Hello there.
Just back from some welcome sunshine in the beautiful island of Kephalonia. In my travels I came across a great location for photography though, unfortunately for me, a lack of reach with my lens and also August heat ensured I could not get anything with the quality required for uploading.
Here is an indication of the kind of photos that would be possible from this spot:
EFL Departure
With a lens like the 100-400mm and some clear morning air that I guess is more likely either end of the summer period, then some great images could be taken.
If you are lucky enough to meet the criteria - lens and holiday timings - and would like some more info on places to go just let me know.

Paul, that looks like a very nice spot! Looking at Google Earth, I'd say you were on the East side of the runway, somewhere up a hill (I can identify the buildings from GE). It looks like a small airport, so I guess mainly European charter stuff, but not very much of it?
Presumably, that spot would only be good in the mornings anyway? What lens was your shot taken with?

Hello Steve.
You are correct - looking there at a departure from Runway 32. So this spot would be best in the morning. That was taken with my 70-200mm lens, so you need more than that and, crucially, you need clearer air with less than 30+ degrees temperature (not that I was complaining ). Following your comments I had a look at Google Earth and I could pinpoint exactly where I was sitting for that photo!
You are correct about the traffic - pretty sporadic, with peaks and major troughs, but I was interested to see quite a few bizjets, often from Italy and Switzerland.
Karl - I am sure Kerkyra would have a lot more traffic but, for me, the island wins hands down by being much quieter and very beautiful.
