Just wanted to know how many of you use real cameras, also known as Canons
I am a Canon guy all the way!! I just love their ease of use and how they seem so technologically up to date, while i find "N's" to be kind of old fashioned
No but seriously, the quality of shots you can get through the "L" glass is just absolutely mind boggling!!
Only short coming i would say is the missing weather seal on the lower end cameras, whichi think Nikons have across the board (may be wrong).
Just for the record, i use a 400D, was looking for a second body and was thinking of the 40D but now since the 50D is in the pipeline, i will wait for that.
I start this post in friendliest way possible, lets not go overboard with the insults

Yes, I use a real camera... it's called Nikon D300.
I am a Nikon guy all the way!! I just love their ease of use and how they seem so technologically up to date, while i find "C's" to be kind of old fashioned and damn ugly!

What's the point of this thread, really?

Well i will share a little history about my photographic past... i started off with a Canon G-2, which was a little bulky but to be honest at that time i didnt know jack about photography so it did pretty well.
Then i wanted a little more flexibility and focal length so i bought the Canon Powershot Pro 1, i dont know if anyone used that camera, but it was one hell of a camera. Each of my shots would come out immaculate! I dont know if that piece was a absolutely brilliant one or i am a great photographer (probably the latter) but you had to see the pics it produced.
It was also one of the first "Pro-sumer" cameras with a "L" series lens. Did anyone else ever use this camera?

I think Nitin saw Vasco's "grasp for nostalgia" topic and tried to get something like that going again. It doesn't work that way though. That station has been passed. That was then, this is now. It's like seeing something funny and trying to explain it to someone else. It doesn't work most of the time, you just had to be there.

I did to be honest, its never too late, ofcourse for the older members the time may have passed, but for us younger ones, the time is now
No offence intended by calling you pro's "older"
Its never a bad option to try!

I wouldn't use a Canon unless you paid me to. Born Minolta, dying Sony. We invented autofocus before Canon did, and had all of the real innovations first, like bayonet mounts, built-in metering, program exposure, wireless flash, automatic ratio flash, in-body antishake...
If for some reason the A-mount ever dies, I'd move to Nikon.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW PHOTO SCREENER
I have been a photographer long enough to know that only one things matters amongst the top marques - personal choice.
The differences between the top cameras are mere nuances and the lead is taken first by one brand then another. That is what has driven the development of the digital camera so far so rapidly.
If you are not already committed to one brand or another, go for the one that feels best, the most comfortable.
If anyone is interested, I have never felt so comfortable with a camera in my hands as when I was holding a Pentax Spotmatic F though I now use Canons.
