Hey all,

My mom's gonna be in Thailand and looking to fly from BKK to CDG in France.

I looked up and was surprised to find some cheap business class deals on these carriers

Gulf Air is on A340 changing onto the A330

Qatar is on the A330 changing onto the A340

Etihad is on 777 changing onto A340

So, my questions are these:

Do all of them offer flat beds in their business class? If so do any offer lay flat seating or is it an angled flat bed?

What is the service / food like ? Anyone who has flown all 3 and can compare would be awesome!

THe last option is taking Finnair via Helsinki on their MD11

Thanks heaps in advance

QR or EY will be much better than Gulf Air. I'm not sure which of those two would be better, but I would definitely prefer a 777 to an A340/330.

"Lose" is not spelled with two o's!!!!

I did LHR-DOH-SIN fairly recently on the 340-600 and 330 and liked it a lot.

The A346 is more luxorius with the F and J lounges but the seats are similar. Some pics:

Please strike GF off the list without hesitation. I have flown more than a handful of flights with them and they are nothing short of disastrous with surly flight attendants and bad ground service. IMHO, QR and EY are considered "new-upstarts" in the region and might be more eager to please.

Ryanair is absolutely correct, you wont go wrong with EY or QR.

Some of my recently trip reports:

Qatar Airways: Your Five Star Airline?

Etihad: A Diamond In The Rough

As far as Gulf Air goes, they are not up to par as these two but I have been reading and hearing about all the improvements they have been making recently. However its a 50/50 with them as there is no real way to know what to expect at the moment. That said I would take Gulf Air over Emirates but that is another thread.

Have a look on http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Qatar_Airways/information.php

The other two airlines are not covered.

I would personally choose QR simply because I have travelled with them in J and F all the time. The serivce is amazing--plus, you have the option to watch live televesion in the seats! EY is also great. Seating wise, QR is wider and at an almost flat angle. The seat pitch is generous though.
