I doubt it, but wait till 2010 when terminal 3 opens, transit through DEL will become a pleasure, atleast thats what GMR is promising.
So trials on the new rwy begin on Aug 21st!!!! Any idea which will be the 1st flight to touch down on it???
From what i have read, the rwy will mostly be used for landings and takeoffs for international and cargo flights due to it being in close proximity to terminal 2 and cargo terminal.
Also, rwy 10/28 will be closed for re-carpeting once the 3rd rwy is fully operational.
I would like to see a pic from the airplane....maybe when i visit DEL in the fall, we get to land on the new rwy.

I just came back from my trip to India and absolutely hated flying on Continental.
On the other hand, flew 9W from DEL-CHD and IT from CHD-DEL. They were both awesome. I liked IT a tad bit better than 9W
CO is probably the worst airline I have ever flown till now. Their flight attendents were unprofessional, rude and prejudice. Can anyone tell me as to why CO does not have even a single flight attendent of Indian origin on that flight?
Oh well. Going forward, I have decided to only fly IT or 9W on my trips to India.

Dubai: India's Jet Airways, which is starting flights from Dubai to New Delhi and Mumbai this month, said it will have a code-sharing agreement with Emirates as the two carriers seek to benefit from the growing traffic on the UAE-India sector.
The arrangement is expected to become effective from October, Jet Airways chairman Naresh Goyal told reporters in Dubai on Sunday.
He said both airlines are well-positioned to benefit from the alliance, which will cover joint selling of seats and frequent flyer programmes.

Interesting - CO always gets relatively rave reviews for US carriers. Can you post a TR? I recently took the DEL-ORD nonstop on AA and they also didn't have any FA's of Indian origin, but their service was fine.
Looks like it'll be awhile until IT starts flying to the US, and while 9W is excellent in India, they're not quite as outstanding on their long-haul legs. Still good, but not spectacular. Check out my TRs if you like.

A friend of mine who flew MAA-DXB-JFK on EK about two weeks ago did complain of less than satisfactory service. He chose EK as it was the lowest priced one-stop option(by a wide margin) out of MAA. Notwithstanding his complaints about service, he is willing to fly EK again if the price is right.
He would have preferred to fly 9W but they were not competitive. Given low loads on India-BRU-JFK flight on 9W, why isn't 9W willing to match EK fares?

The point is that why are Indian paxs given 2nd class treatment? CO flight attendents had that written all over their faces. I am mad cuz I paid close to $10k on air tickets for the entire family and the last thing I expected was to be treated as a 2nd class pax.
I am reporting this behavoir to the CO management and we will see what their take is on this. I will keep you all posted.

Hated flying CO??? I am surprised as my relatives took that flight in june/july and absolutely loved it, they are of Indian origin.
I would love to read your TR so we all can ascertain how the crew was unprofessional and rude. Can you cite some incidents which allow you to say they were prejudiced etc.??
We flew AA and there wasn't an Indian flight attendant on the plane, the lady who was serving us was very kind and professional. maybe you just got stuck with a crew who weren't excited about their trip to India.

I would love to see thier faces, did you capture them on camera???
I have flown many airlines in the past and i don't see that except maybe once on lufthansa. Usually indian people create problems for themselves (does not mean you did anything) and then blame the crew for bad behaviour.
Having said that, i really would like to know what made you think like that about the crew.
