How can it be a "real beach" if it is on a ship?

Will you look back tomorrow and regret it?

I was just about to post the same thing, unless it is sand deposited by the tides then it isnt a real beach. Its an artificial beach.

There are so many innovations for the Oasis of the Seas. Im actually booked on one of its first voyages in December 2009 so cant wait.

Its not a real beach ::

The ship's new Beach Pool will be "zero entry" -- which means there's a gentle slope for entering as if you are at the beach (however, there's no sand). Colorful beach umbrellas will add to the resort feel. In total, Oasis of the Seas will feature four pools and 10 whirlpools.

According to an official presentation yesterday ( article in Norwegian ), the beach will include real sand.

But the journalist could have missunderstood, I guess....

Yes, it's great to see that this once a 100 % Norwegian company continues to be in the for front in the cruise industry. Norwegian and American interests seems to work well togehter here.

The mega-yacht Lady Moura has its own retractable beach on board along with jet skis and other beach toys. The Saudi ownerr does not allow his wife and young daughter to go to any public (or private) beaches so he has fitted the mega-yacht with a beach with real sand and full beach equipment.

The child goes to the Interational School of Monaco. The mother sometimes invites some of her school friends on board the yacht for kiddies parties. I once went to fetch one of the invited children. No one is allowed on board except the children. This is how I learned about the beach on board the yacht.

The Lady Moura:

Cruise ships are getting bigger and bigger. A beach would be fairly easy to install on board I suppose.

There was a better way to fly. It was called Concorde.

Probably was excited like the rest of us and got carried away LOL....

This will be an amazing ship to see and sail on . The bar which rises like an elevator is a cool idea. Also the adults solarium pool looks amazing and is where I will spend my days relaxing.

Did I miss something?

Lemme see.

Put a beach on a cruise ship that goes to islands with beaches so you don't have to use the beach you've already got at the place you're going?  Yeah sure  Yeah sure  Yeah sure

You seem to be awfully sure that it's not a beach with real sand. How can you be so sure ?

Press pack's does'nt say all. As I understand, new info regarding the ship is continuesly revealed. When is the press pack from ?

I just find it a bit strange that two newspapers here in Norway are reporting a different thing...

I've been on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines years ago and it was wonderful. I've heard they have gone downhill like the airlines have recently. Is that true?

You will need a beach on that ship because on a 7 day cruise it only makes two ports of call besides Ft. Lauderdale. I guess they want a captive group of passengers to spend all their $$$ onboard.

Those ships are incredible. The ports they visit are rather lame unless you go deep in to the countries they dock. Otherwise, you will only see the lame tourist T-shirt stands that you would see in any other tourist trap.
The beaches are great throughout the Caribbean.

Or, hauling coals to Newcastle if you prefer. It's another way of saying it's the answer to a question nobody asked.

The cruise line themselves. Also I saw a live press conference over the Web which also stated no sand. I cant give you more clarification than that ,other than when Im onboard I will take photos for you LOL....

I dont agree, I was on the newest of their ships last year ''Independance of the Seas'' and it was as good as ever.

You will love it. Its the first of the ''Freedom'' class ships . The Royal Promenade is cool and be sure to drop by the 24 hour Pizza bar . If you want to see the Ice show get your tickets at Studio B as soon as you can . They are free but run out quickly.

As 0A260 says, you should love it.

I went on Voyager Of The Seas last year nad it was fantastic.

As nice as Oasis looks like it will be, IMHO it is too big. As has already been mentioned there are very few ports in which the ship will actually be able to dock or anchor. But if you are one of those people who "don't do cruising" it will probably be great, Voyager was great but I would not go any bigger.

But thats just my  twocents  .

I did the Voyager and loved it . Really nice ship. The thing I like on the newer versions is that the Promenade is 30% longer and has a few more things in it. As you will know its a great meeting place day or night. Has a buzz about it .

I am going on it just for the experience. I might never go again but just will try it. I guess there is a market for everything. My favourite brand is their sister company Celebrity.
