In July I took a trip to Australia, leaving from PHL.
First I hade to go to LAX. I was flying US Airways there. I took a Airbus A319. The flight took me about 4 hours and 45 min. It was a nice flight.

Once I got there, I had a four and a half hour layover.
I would be taking a Air New Zealand 747-400.
We would go from LAX to ALK, a 11 and a half hour flight.

That's it? Why do you think that Air New Zealand is a 5 star airline?

First off, welcome to a.net!  champagne

We would all love to hear about your trip, but unfortunately, you didn't give us many details. If you read some of the other ones here, you might get a better idea of the kind of information/pictures that typically appear in other TRs. You didn't tell us hardly anything about the flights themselves: seat/cabin/ambiance/service/meals, and such. Give us some more details about the flights, and any pictures you might have taken along the way. How was the check-in process? What did you do in the airport before you left? Were the flights on time? How was the seat? How was the food, if there was any? Anything interesting happen on the flight? How was your transfer at LAX? Where did you sit on the 744? Anything interesting happen on the flight to AKL?

Basically, instead of narrating just the trip, its stops and what kinds of planes you flew, give us your personal opinions, and personal experiences! I'd love to hear about them, as this is a flight I'd love to take sometime.

Again, welcome to a.net!

Cheers,
Cameron

If I came across as rude at all, I apologize, as it wasn't intended. I was just trying to give you some talking points for next time. I remember my first TR was about a paragraph, for four flights, so we've all been there.  Wink It just sounded like an amazing trip, and I was hoping to hear more about it! Definitely bring your camera, and if you want to get inducted right into a.net, take a picture of the food! LOL.

Good luck!

Cheers,
Cameron

If you think writing a trip report is just posting a few photos of planes and writing some token commentary, you are so wrong. It takes a lot of E-F-F-O-R-T and I spend a good few H-O-U-R-S crafting what I want to be the desired outcome.

If you are what you say in that age range as specified in your profile, then i would say this is a good first attempt but please do take note of how trip reports are normally done. Some say imitation is the best form of flattery - and then afterwards evolve into your own style of writing.

Regards
Ryan

as everyone says, were trying to help you out not yell at you.

But if the flight was 2 months ago and you don't remeber many details then maybe it was not that right trip to write about. Learn from others and for your next flight you'll know what to remember/take pictures of, and then write a report on a more recent trip.

Another tip: when you say your report has pictures, that should indicate they are your own taken from the trip.

Give the guy a break...it's his first time. More often than not, you don't need to tell people they screwed up. The user will eventually read a few great TRs and learn how to write one. But this one was a bit of a letdown...

Welcome to a-net-

I don't think he was trying to be mean to you, he was just trying to give you advice, if you take the advice that the people on this site give you, your TR will be just as good as all the others.

Quoting Xx787xX (Reply 4):

Then when you travel write down the highlights of your trip!

Again I understand your age and this is your first time here, but if your respectful to everyone on this site and you carry yourself out in a mature manner then you will get respect on this site.

Good luck to ya!
